Fersan
About Fersan
Fersan is one of Turkey’s leading vinegar and pickle brands. Founded in 1978, the company operates today under the Germany-based Develey Group and holds the position of Turkey’s largest vinegar producer. With its strong heritage and deep-rooted values, Fersan appeals to a wide consumer base. Beyond its traditional products, the brand also stands out with an innovative portfolio ranging from vinegar-based healthy drinks and cleaning products to Asian sauces and herbal & fruit teas — reflecting its dynamic presence in the FMCG market.
Why Renewal Was Needed
The packaging renewal process was not limited to a visual refresh; it aimed to achieve higher quality standards, stronger sustainability goals, and a visual identity aligned with the brand’s corporate character. This direction allowed Fersan to maintain its strong market position while adapting its packaging to a more modern, functional, and environmentally conscious approach.
Our Approach
The focus was on improving packaging without disrupting consumer habits, with an emphasis on technical refinements and sustainability-driven steps. During this process, different materials such as PP opaque, coated paper, PET, and metallized labels were tested. Among these, PP opaque emerged as a particularly durable alternative during production and filling. At the same time, a transition toward recyclable closures for glass bottles was introduced, and pilot applications using materials with 30% recycled content were also considered.
In addition, a Corporate Identity Guideline was developed to ensure brand consistency across all communication channels. Covering logo usage, typography, color palette, and application examples, the guideline was integrated with a digital archive of all packaging designs, enabling transparent and systematic access for all teams.

Ongoing Development
Packaging designs have been renewed and introduced to the market, while the process continues to evolve in line with new market dynamics and the brand’s sustainability vision. This case study highlights that packaging is not only a visual element but also a strategic tool that connects brand identity, production quality, and environmental responsibility.
